Newport News, VA

Williamsburg area, VA

A Williamsburg mailing address may be in James City or York County. Confirm City water, JCSA, or Waterworks before applying.

Currituck County, NC

Confirm electric territory and the water system for mainland vs. Corolla/Ocean Sands. Some neighborhoods have private systems or wells. Ask Piedmont about gas availability; propane may be used instead.

Elizabeth City area, NC

City Utilities supplies electricity and water in its service area. Outside that area, check Dominion/Albemarle EMC and Pasquotank County water. Verify by address.

Outer Banks, NC

Providers vary by town and island. Check Dare County, your town water office, or Currituck for Corolla; Manteo and Ocracoke have separate water systems. Natural gas is address-dependent: ask Piedmont to confirm. If the home has propane, get the supplier and tank-ownership details from the seller.

A few details to confirm

Water and wastewater billing: In Hampton Roads, HRSD / HRUBS may bill wastewater treatment separately or on a combined bill. Start water service with the local water provider; ask how wastewater charges will be handled.

Gas: All-electric homes may not need gas service. For propane, confirm the tank supplier, whether the tank is owned or leased, and the transfer process.

Cable and internet: Options shown are starting points, not a complete provider list. Cable TV, fiber, and fixed wireless availability vary by address. Compare installation dates, equipment, and plan terms directly. Spectrum is the current brand for former Cox residential services.

Military housing: For on-base or privatized housing, ask the housing office which utilities are included and which accounts you must establish.
